三、项目学校基本情况

名山县第一中学（简称名一中），位于名山县城北面月华山上，校园内座落着“省级文物保护单位”的文庙，是一所有近百年历史和丰富文化底蕴的川西名校。学校始建于1930年，原名为“名山县立初级中学”，清末举人赵正和担任首任校长。

目前，学校占地面积84308m²，校舍面积25319m²，仪器设备价值41.8万元，图书19930册。现有教学班31个，在校学生1834人，在职教职工132人，省特级教师1人，省骨干教师5人，全国优秀教师2人，省优秀教师2人，市知名校长1人，市首席教师、学科带头人5人，市级骨干教师、教坛新秀16人，市、县科技拔尖人才2人，市、县党代表和人大代表6人。

通过几代人的努力，名山县第一中学各方面工作取得了骄人的成绩：1982年被省人民政府批准为首批扩大办好的重点中学；1995年通过省重点中学检查验收，并被国家教委命名为“全国学习科学实验学校”；1997年被评为省级校风示范学校； 2004年4月顺利通过“四川省示范性普通高中”检查验收。

学校教学质量一直处于全市前茅，被评为“四川省教学质量社会满意学校”，多次荣获“雅安市高考教学质量优秀奖”，多次被评为“雅安市教书育人先进集体”。2006、2007连续两年高考本科上线率居全市第一，创学校历史新高，2008年3月学校被推选为雅安市11年来教育系统唯一的“省级最佳文明单位”。近年来，先后有40名同学考入清华、北大、复旦等全国名牌高校学习。而今名中学子英才多，校友满天下，在祖国各条战线上作出了突出贡献，而且在国务院办公厅、外交部、商务部和空军部队等国家机关中均有名中校友。

III. Basic information about the aid project schools

Mingshan No.1 Middle school is situated on the Yuehua Hill in the north of Mingshan County City. It is a well-known key school in the west of Sichuan, which has a history of nearly 100 years and a rich culture, with the provincial protecting Wen Temple in the school. The school was set up in 1930, originally named “Mingshan County Junior Middle School”, and Zhao Zhenghe, a “Juren” (a successful candidate in the imperial exams at the provincial level in the Ming and Qing dynasties) in the late Qing Dynasty, was the first headmaster.

The school has an area of 84308 m² , of which the school building is 25319 m². The school has facilities worth 4,180,000 yuan and 19930 copies of books. There are 31 classes in all, including 1834 students, 132 teaching and administrative staff, of whom one is provincial special-class teacher, 5 provincial key teachers, 2 national exemplary teachers, and 2 provincial exemplary teachers; one noted headmaster, one chief teacher, 5 subject-leading teachers, 16 key and new talented teachers of Ya’an; 2 top-notch personages in Science and technology , 6 Party Representatives and People’s Representatives of the city and county.

With several generations’ efforts, Mingshan No.1 Middle School has achieved a lot on every aspect. In 1982 the school was approved a first-batch provincial key school. In 1995, it was checked and accepted by the national educational committee as Science Learning and Experimental School. In 1997 it was honored “Provincial School Spirit Exemplary” and it won the title “Exemplary School of Sichuan Province” in April,2004.

The teaching quality of the school is always in the leading among all the schools of Ya’an city. Elected “School of Social Satisfactory teaching quality”, awarded the honourable title “School of First- Rate College Entrance Examination” many times, and honoured “Advanced Unit of Education in Ya’an many times”, , the school kept the biggest proportion of students entering universities in 2006 and 2007, which was an all-time high. In March, 2008, the school was chosen as the “provincial first-rate Civilization Unit” ,which has been the only school of the educational system of Ya’an in the past 11 years . In recent years, there were around 40 students admitted into Famous Universities, such as Beijing University, QshingHua University, Fudan University and so on. The school has many outstanding students studying here, and many graduates from Mingshan No.1 Middle School are now making great contributions on all fronts, of whom some are serving in Party and government organizations such as the State Council General Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commercial Counsellors’ Office and the Air Force Unit.
